Blank Card - Historic Christ Church

Christ Church was originally built in 1670 after wealthy Northern Neck landowner John Carter funded the project. But the original wooden structure was deemed insufficient by John's son, Robert "King" Carter, who had the present church building erected in 1730. The cedar lined avenue once linked the church with Carter's Corotoman Plantation.
