Blackback Flounder Tile
The blackback or winter flounder is one of the most common righteye flounders. Its name refers to the dark coloration that some individuals display. Although smaller than summer flounder (fluke), this species receives considerable attention from anglers. The blackback flounder is one of the few saltwater species that are present in inshore estuaries during the winter.
