The beautiful Black Swallowtail Butterfly. This one is a male, resting on milkweed flowers I placed him on. He was newly born just 10 minutes prior to this photo I took of him. They have wide black wings. Females have blue spots on their hind wings. She lays her round brown eggs on the parsley plant. Their host plant. They have lovely curved black antennas.
