It was hunted by "buffalo" hunters in the 1800s and nearly became extinct. However, bison have made a recent resurgence largely restricted to a few national parks and reserves. And that’s worthy of celebration in art. This is a wonderfully whimsical expression of a bison with a southwestern flare.
