This design features a print of an engraving by the Dutch artist Jan Mankes (1889–1920). It depicts a bird in a rural landscape. The bird is a young chick that is emerging from its nest. The creature has some fluffy feathers on its body, but it has not yet developed its full plumage. There are some stylized poppies growing behind the bird. The original art was painted in 1917.
