Big Obsidian Flow, Oregon Postcard

A bright sunny afternoon on the trail of the Big Obsidian Flow, located in the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, Oregon. It last erupted about 1,300 years ago, which makes it the youngest lava flow in Oregon. It is full of black obsidian rock, white pumice & grey pumice, & the views from the trail are beautiful! This was from our first trip back in May 2016 with snow still on the upper parts of the trail.
