Big Horns T-Shirt

This shirt is part of a series of posters commissioned by the Works Progress Administration during the Great Depression in the 1930's. The WPA's job was to help find employment for the legions of workers left without jobs by the depression. They hired workers and built many post offices, city halls, and other public buildings as well as road construction. They also hired artists, and that's where these posters originated. The T-shirts are made from scans of the originals contained in the National Archives and as such, you can sometimes see original brush strokes, paper or canvas textures coming through the paint, as well as an occasional "glitch" or two!
