"Beware Pickpockets and Loose Women" This sign is found in the underground of Seattle, Washington. When there was a fire in the old Seattle, it put the building into ruin. While they were rebuilding the city, they underground of the city was open to people who were selling items. This was also in the time of the gold rush, so there were many available, and semi wealthy miners that were in these markets. Due to this, there were many pickpockets that were stealing things from the miners, and the women outnumbered the men, so there were in consequence many women in these markets as well.
