Berthe Morisot - Young Girls at the Window Notebook

Young Girls at the Window (Jeunes filles à la fenêtre), painted in 1892 in oil on canvas by French Impressionist painter Berthe Morisot. The composition places young women beside a window where interior space meets the light and colour beyond. The motif allowed Morisot to combine portrait-like observation with the ambiguity of reflections, openings and loosely brushed surroundings, creating a quiet scene suspended between domestic intimacy and the outside world.
