Belgian Lady & Flag - Early 1900s
This vintage image was in use around 1908. I'm not a historian, but I think the official colours of the Belgian flag has been black, yellow, and red since the late 1700s. (This image, however, was originally found with a blue, rather than a black, stripe. Perhaps it was a mistake by the illustrator who lived about 100 years ago?) Anyway, I adjusted this image to show it with a black stripe, to create the historic flag with which most are familiar.
This card would be fun to send to anyone of Belgian ancestry or who currently lives there. Add your own message inside, if you wish, by selecting the "Customize It" button. Great for invitations!
