Beer tasting during Octoberfest in Munich, Germany Postcard
The famous and biggest folk festival Oktoberfest is celebrated every year on October in Munich, Germany.
Oktoberfest dates are chosen so that the festival begins in September and ends on the first Sunday of October and runs for 16 to 18 days.
The famous expression "O'zapft is!" in Bavarian corresponding to the English "It is tapped", is shouted during the tapping of the first beer barrel.
The first celebration took place on October 12 in 1810. From that time this fest become traditional.
The festival attracts millions of visitors from all over the world and features traditional Bavarian culture, food, music, and beer.
To illustrate the Octoberfest we have chosen a happy couple in traditional Bavarian outfits holding the krugs full of beer.
