Goldenrod is a wide spread genus of wildflower found in many areas. Goldenrod gets its name from the fact that it often blooms in soil where there are traces of gold, which the plant acts as a rod to point out. Solidago multiradiata is a common Alaska wildflower and this photo was taken on Unalaska Island.
