Bee, Medieval Bestiary Art Postcard

Bee, Medieval Bestiary Art Postcard Over a field of pink, orange, and purple flowers, a gold banded Bee flies in close, its wings spread and its legs ready to land. The blossoms below glow in soft sunlight. The scholar's entry calls it a striped and busy bloom ward who wakes when the nectar lifts, and its work is a small and honeyed thing. That busy cheer of a field in full bloom shapes the whole design. A large gold drop cap on a patterned blue panel opens the name BEE, with a red subtitle, of the Flower Field, set beneath it over a small black ornament. A short scholar's entry in old style lettering fills the left column, and a framed window on the right shows the gold banded Bee flying above a field of colourful flowers. A small brown ink sketch marks the lower left corner. Honey gold, flower pink, and field green fill a warm parchment tone page with burnt looking edges, framed by blue and red acanthus scrolls, red and gold blossoms, four perched songbirds, and thin gold rails. The reverse continues the manuscript look rather than becoming a plain postcard back. A parchment tone writing field sits in a deep blue and gold frame set with red lozenge ornaments, with a gold griffin on a red medallion in each corner. At the left, a smiling golden lion in a red and gold collar sits on a stone ledge under a rose covered archway, with a spired castle, a waterfall, and snowy mountains behind it. The right side holds POSTCARD lettering, DELIVER TO: address lines, and a PLACE STAMP HERE box. • Gold banded Bee flying over a flower field • Gold drop cap B, red subtitle of the Flower Field, and a short scholar's lore entry • Honey gold, pink, and green on a parchment tone page with a blue and red floral border • Matching manuscript style lion back with message, address, and stamp areas • Part of the Medieval Bestiary Postcard Collection from Wild Realms
