Beautiful Rose in Bloom postcard w/ Lincoln quote

I photographed this exquisite rose when my husband and I were visiting the fabulous Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens in Washington, DC. The amazing gardens at this former home of heiress Marjorie Merriweather Postare are especially famous for their magnificent roses! The wonderful quote by Abraham Lincoln, "We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses," reminds us that we have the power to choose whether to view the world (or our glass) as half empty or half full. It's perfect to celebrate love or friendship, or to share a helpful, positive perspective with someone who is having a difficult time. Just looking at this stunning example of nature's beauty is sure to give the recipient pleasure!
