A small, paparazzi-shy, and unusually late-migrating flock of 8 of these purple forest pigeons has been in the neighbourhood for 2 days, but this one finally consented to having its photo taken through a window on a fine spring morning as it perched on the shepherd's crook (after very quietly flying onto one of the 100-foot tall Douglas Firs in the backyard)!
