Bat Mitzvah, Mazel Tov, Greetings Card, Card

I wanted to create a card that would depict the magic and mystery that awaits the young Bat Mitzvah girl. The passage of becoming an independent young woman is filled with adventure, curiosity and strange new experiences, so I was reminded of 'Alice in Wonderland'. A twisting tree of life carries seven flames to represent the menorah candle-stick, where the star of David sits central between nine keys and nine hearts (=18 meaning 'life') symbolizing the tree's fruits, Love and Understanding. The young Bat Mitzvah girl faces the tree wearing the traditional Tallit shawl and holding a written copy of her Torah portion that is a symbol of the connection between the past and the future. Two doves of peace regale some of the many attributes that she has already learned in her young life so far, and finally, a colourful reminder that even the darkest storms can bring the brightest rainbows!
