The Bandida da Plaza is an allegory to the benefactor of the Mouro, called the Bandida da Square, born in Lisbon. She was a brave woman who lived in the 17th century, she helped the poor and the oppressed at night, giving them money from the cakes she made during the day and also offering her the cakes that were left over from the daily sale. At the same time, she comforted them and helped them survive the wrongdoers of the time. The image of a fox denotes a strong, wise and intelligent woman who was never allowed to be beaten by the authorities, because she dribled them with her cleverness, carrying out her help to the poor.
