Baan Dam Museum in Chiang Rai Holiday Postcard

Baan Dam Museum, also called the Black House, is a striking private art complex in Chiang Rai Province built by renowned Thai artist Thawan Duchanee. Spread over a large garden area, the museum comprises around 40 unique black-painted structures that blend traditional Lanna and Thai architecture with highly personal, contemporary design motifs. Each building serves both as an artwork and exhibition space, housing Duchanee’s diverse collection of paintings, sculptures, antiques, wood carvings, and other artifacts that reflect his creative vision.
