The Association for Women Geoscientists aims to encourage the participation of women in geosciences, exchange education, technical and professional information, and enhance the professional growth of women. Specifically, the Laramide Chapter serves the Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, and South Dakota area. We focus on Leadership, Outreach, and Community. We strive to achieve leadership through career development and an annual awards banquet recognizing outstanding student achievements in the geosciences. We work with our local communities to encourage Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) involvement among girls through science fairs and working alongside Girl Scouts of America. We strive to unify and promote women in the geosciences through networking and connecting with other scientists with the same goal.
