Avior Epsilon Carinae Star Pin
This pin features the star named Avior (Bayer Designation Epsilon Carinae), in the constellation Carina. Avior was named by Her Majesty's Royal Nautical Office in the late 1930s in order for it to have a name in The Air Almanac. Since the Almanac was being used by the Royal Air Force, the star was given an aviation themed name. Though it appears to be one star from Earth, it is actually a binary star system; two stars orbiting each other.
