St. James Church in the National trust village of Avebury, Wiltshire, UK
The church has a long history going back to Saxon times, it contains a, once hidden, medieval rood-loft and a font believed to be of Saxon origin with some interesting carving added during the Norman period.
Originally this church was built without aisles, these were added in the twelfth century in the Norman style, wider aisles were built and the tower added in the fifteenth century.
