Autism Asperger's Statement T-Shirt by Julie Clark
Far too many people misunderstand autism and Asperger's Syndrome. This shirt is a quiet way to help others understand that autism is not a disease. The surest way to make my daughter mad is to tell her that people "suffer from Asperger's" (or autism). Much of the frustrations those with autism spectrum disorders experience is related to how others interact with them - or refuse to interact with them at all. Let's work together to help people understand what autism is - and what it is not. Let's work for a better and brighter future together! TEXT READS: Asperger's is not a disease. I do not "suffer from" autism. I "suffer from" those who do not accept me for who I am, or how I interpret the world around me. Text by author and artist Julie Clark 2013
