Audubon's flock of Painted Bunting birds perched in a wild fruit tree. This painting of five blue, yellow, and red birds consists two older males, two young males, and a single female. The fruit tree is known as the Chickasaw Plum, Cherokee Plum or Florida Sand Plum and was originally cultivated by Native Americans. Vintage art reproduction of a John James Audubon original art print. This is plate fifty three of Audubon's "Birds of America" series.
