This Flamingo illustration is a reproduction of American Flamingo, a fine John James Audubon print from Birds of America, Plate 431. The American Flamingo print was originally printed between 1827-1838. It is estimated that at auction, the American Flamingo print will go for $250,000. It is thought that only 120 complete sets of John James Audubon’s Birds of America still exist today. These bird prints are engraved by hand with aquatint and are further detailed by hand colouring, The American Flamingo is considered one of the best works that was produced in the Birds of America series of bird prints.
