The Atacama Desert (Spanish: Desierto de Atacama) is a desert plateau in South America covering a 1,600 km (990 mi) strip of land on the Pacific coast, west of the Andes Mountains. It is also the only true desert to receive less precipitation than the polar deserts. According to estimates, the Atacama Desert occupies 105,000 km2 (41,000 sq mi), or 128,000 km2 (49,000 sq mi) if the barren lower slopes of the Andes are included. Most of the desert is composed of stony terrain, salt lakes (salares), sand, and felsic lava that flows towards the Andes.

Before purchasing, I contacted Naomi about the recommended size and layout. She recommended the single page so that the front cover will look right. She also recommended either the small or medium size. I purchased the medium size calendar, single page layout per month, and I love it! The photos are beautiful! I understand that the smaller size is 11" x 7" and I wanted something larger than that. The medium size measures 16.5" x 10.75". The images look great!
