Asleep in the Woods (by Arthur Hughes) Tile

This design features art by the English painter Arthur Hughes (1832–1915). It shows a woman sleeping against the trunk of a broad oak tree. She is resting in a remote woodland, where there is no one around to bother her. She has a wooden basket in her hand as she sleeps: perhaps she has been foraging for mushrooms or collecting fruits and berries from the trees and bushes that surround her. There is also an adorable little squirrel, with red fur, perching precariously on a nearby branch: it is looking at the young woman and it is clearly interested in her.
