ARTivity on the Green Postcard

ARTivity on the Green is Winston-Salem's first Art Park. An old gravel parking lot on Liberty St. in the arts district has been transformed into a green space full of creative installations evocative of the city’s industrial past. ARTivity bridges the gap between Wake Forest University’s Innovation Quarter, a hub for biomedical science and tech development, and the Arts District. Red lines lead to the half-acre park’s focal point, the red “smokestacks” that emit fog and light up at night. The red towers as well as the heavy use of steel, with red steel benches that resemble sawhorses recall the city's industrial past. This project was developed through the Public Art Initiative of the AFAS (Art for Art's Sake) Group
