Southwest oil painter, Art James West is proud to bring you this fine collection of his favourite original oils, Fantastic Clouds and Roads. THE PROCESS To achieve the finest result, each painting was digitally photographed using colour balanced lights. The image was then carefully cropped, cleaned and proofed for value and colour balance by the artist. Proofing is a nuanced activity which requires an intimate knowledge of the software involved as well as an artistic eye. BRIEF In 2000 Art James West came to New Mexico to immerse himself in the Taos art scene and develop his own painting style. In just a short time he established himself as a contemporary of the original Taos School. In 2006 he won the Taos Fall Arts Festival, and is now recognized as a Taos Icon. "I have always been fascinated with clouds. It seems no matter how much I study and paint them I always find something new. And roads are about discovery, filled with wonder and possibility."
