【mato-ni atari-ya】Target crest.
The target (mato) is related to the word 'mado' (aim or target) or 'mado' (circle). It was used as a mark for archery and firearms. The 'atari-ya' crest was used as a shop name or trademark, considered auspicious. It is believed to have become a formalized crest in the early modern period (according to 'Nihon no Monsho' by Ito Kosaku).
The target pattern used in designs is thought to have originated from the shape of a square with its corners standing upright, similar to those used in yabusame (Japanese horseback archery). The target crest likely became a family crest due to its martial significance and the auspicious meaning of 'hitting the mark' for merchants (according to 'Kamon no Jiten' by Takazawa etc.).

Having ordered a number of custom order products from other suppliers I can say categorically the quality and customer service from Zazzle is top notch vs. the others (and negative experiences with these others). I was quite overjoyed with the results of my first order from Zazzle (and the entire process and customer service when encountered a supply issue). The design of this particular buy is quite individual to my needs as a promo item. It is very subtle and came out exactly as I expected. Essentially names a presentation series on the watch which is about AI and tech. The design, and allowing for lines of actual text within the code, was perfect for my needs.Well thought out by the creator. I added a colour match watch band but the original band was of good quality and used it on another watch.
