Arcimboldo Winter print. Oil on canvas from 1563. Giueseppe Arcimboldo painted some of the most fascinating paintings of the late Renaissance. Composing portraits with vegetables, fruits, trees, fish and other foods, the Italian artist developed a huge following within the Hapsburg court. Winter is one of his seasonal paintings and depicts a profile in portrait composed of a dead stump with only winter ivy and a few last lemons.
