Animal - Bird - First robin of spring Postcard

Animal - Bird - First robin of spring Postcard

Robins have much folklore behind them, the Native Americans believed that all birds were messengers of the gods and goddesses. They regarded them as spirit guides. The robin was believed to be a sign of an angel of sorts. They weren't hunted for meat, they felt the birds were all about family, as they flew low to the ground near humans, whereas other birds flew much higher. To some they were also considered an omen. Like if you see a Robin singing in the morning, its a sign of rain. Some cultures think that seeing a flock of them in your yard in the peak of winter, is a sign of danger. Mostly if they stand in snow, their red chest stands out and they see that as a danger sign. Killing a robin isn't just mean, its a negative omen, and you must not do so on purpose. A robin in your house means you didn't close the window, but it also means you need to rethink your relationship. But don't keep a robin in the house if it wants to leave. If you see a robin at the start of spring, make a wish and it will come true, if it doesn't fly off. If it does, then too bad for you.
