When Leonard Cohen played Glastonbury in 2008, one of the finest moments was when he thanked the crowd of 50,000 people who flocked to the Pyramid Stage as the sun set that Sunday evening. Appearing humbled by such an adoring throng, Cohen called them "angels born of the mud". Anyone who was there will remember the pure joy that swept through the crowd, as well as the overwhelming emotion which accompanied the great man's rendition of "Hallelujah" that followed.
