Ancient Gaelic Dunollie Castle Home Of MacDougalls Notebook

Add your name to a photo notebook depicting your MacDougall Clan's ancient power in Scotland. The MacDougalls' Dunollie Castle was strong and new in the Gaelic kingdom known as Dál Riata. That was when centuries were still calculated in the single digits, and the MacDougall clan ruled the western seaboard and isles of Scotland. The MacDougall clan later opposed Robert the Bruce, and their fortunes spiralled downward. The MacDougalls are related to the MacDonald clan and are ancient rivals of the Campbells. Today, this small, ruined castle is open to the public as the Dunollie Museum, Castle and Grounds. It is located north of Oban, in Argyll on Scotland's west coast.
