Ancient Chinese Building Photo Print

Ancient Chinese Building Photo Print

Ancient Chinese Building is a photograph taken in China close to the Great Wall. The Great Wall is the product of countless labours over a period of 2,000 years and is a feast of engineering. It also reflected the collision and exchanges between the agricultural and nomadic civilizations. The Great Wall is not a single-structured wall, it includes beacon towers, barriers, barracks, garrison stations, and fortresses along the walls, together forming an integrated defence system. In the Yuan Dynasty (1272-1368), the Juyong Pass functioned as a major traffic artery from Beijing to Inner Mongolia. Since Yuan emperors often took this route between those places, temporary imperial palaces, temples, and gardens were constructed. Next to Jiayuguan, the Jiayu Pass is famous for being the first frontier fortress at the western end of the Great Wall of China in the Ming Dynasty. Among the hundreds of passes of the Great Wall, Jiayu Pass is one of the most well-preserved passes in existence. Jiayu Pass is not only the western starting point of the Ming Great Wall but also a vital pass on the ancient Silk Road. It's the joining place of the cultures of the Silk Road and the Great Wall. Jiayuguan's fortress is quite impressive, especially considering its barren surroundings. There is a two-storey watchtower on each corner and buildings with three storied-buildings with three-tiered gable-and-hip roofs.

Hi, this photo-poster is now located on my refrigerator. I thought it was going to be a poster-size poster because I don't understand the metric measurements that are posted on the website. It turned out to be the size of a photo and now has a place of honour on my fridge. Was originally intended for a friend, but I thought it applied to me too: "World's Best Cat Mom"! There a lot of us out there! The printing was excellent -- vivid colour; sharp contrast.
