The photograph was taken at Utah's Nine Mile Canyon, which is actually 40 miles long and contains over 1000 petroglyphs created by various ancient cultures, including Anasazi, Fremont & Ute cultures. Nine Mile Canyon is often referred to as the world's longest art gallery! This particular petroglyph was made by the Fremont Culture somewhere between 500-1300 AD.
