Among the Sierra Nevada Mountains (1868) by Albert Bierstadt is a vintage American West fine art landscape painting. A herd of deer are grazing in the forest down by a clear lake. Majestic mountains, misty clouds, a waterfall and trees complete this beautiful nature scene. About the artist: Albert Bierstadt (1830-1902) was a German-American painter best known for his lush, sweeping landscapes of the American West. Bierstadt joined several journeys of the Westward Expansion. He was part of the Hudson River School whose style involved carefully detailed paintings with romantic, almost glowing lighting, sometimes called luminism.
