American White Pelican in migration Postcard

This American White (eastern) pelican migrates to and sometimes through, Texas. They come from their nesting sites along the US/Canadian border arriving about the 12th of October in North Texas. This year, with all the strange weather patterns, they were two weeks early. When migrating, they do not fly over open water but follow the coast lines south from the northern Gulf if they go that far south. They prefer lakes and large breath rivers.
