This 12 month American Civil War calendar has interesting facts about the deadliest war in American history. Young boys and women in disguise fought. Former enslaved men served in the Union Army and some were awarded the Congressional Medal of Honour. The rich were allowed to hire substitutes to take their place. More soldiers died from infections and diseases than from battle wounds. The famous poet Walt Whitman cared for both Union and Confederate soldiers in makeshift hospitals. About 3 million horses and mules served during the civil war and about half of them lost their lives. A heroic dog was shot and killed while fighting alongside the 11th Pennsylvania Infantry. The Gatling gun was invented to reduce the number of deaths. Arlington National Cemetery was once Robert E. Lee's estate and Memorial Day started out as "Decoration Day" when the graves of Union soldiers were decorated with flowers are other interesting facts about the American Civil War in this calendar that can be started with any month of the year.

Firstly, I gave my mom a rescued bengal cat this past spring and I have been taking photos for her of her cat Maya. Instead of simply developing the photos and sending these to her by mail as we do not live close to one another, I let my imagination soar with Zazzle, added the best photos for the calender and added fun quotes to embelish each photo. Yes, it took time and a bit of effort, but if you had heard her intense delight to the calendar, gushing about the wuality of the print, the paper and how well made the calendar is, even her saying "not even one hundred dollars would not have made me happier than I am now. This is the perfect way to start my day and now I can show my cat to everyone when I leave the house!". I know she will bring it with her over the holidays to brag.
So if you are seeking an original gift, made with a bit of effort on your part if you plan ahead, I cannot think of a better way to do this. Make a calendar and let your imagination soar and surprise gift aomeone you care about! Beautifully printed, photos came out quite professional and the black and white print in my calendar is 100% quality.
