National flag of Algeria The Algerian national flag has two vertical bands, in white and green. In the centre of the flag is the star and cresent of Islam, in red. It was adopted in 1962, and has a 2:3 ratio. Note that any distortion in the preview image is caused by compression artifacts, and won't be printed.
