About This Design

Alfred Sisley - The Meadow Tile

The Meadow (La Prairie), painted in 1875 in oil on canvas by British Impressionist painter Alfred Sisley. It shows a meadow enclosed by a wooden fence, with long grasses, wildflowers and small figures set against rolling hills beneath a cloud-filled sky. The loose brushwork and open countryside make weather and light central to the Impressionist landscape.
