Alaska Postage - de Havilland DH3-C Otter Binder

A 5-Nugget postage stamp issued by a mythical independent nation of Alaska. First in a series of Alaska aviation history stamps, it features a de Havilland Canada DH3-C Otter sporting the logo of mythical Flying Moose Aviation of Talkeetna. Text reading, "Alaska," "POSTAGE 10 NUGGETS," "Aviation History," and "de Havilland Canada DHC-3 Otter" also appears. On the reverse side you will find a larger instance of the same image as depicted on the postage stamp. There are two places for you to customize this product by adding your own text on the front, and another on the spine. The Otter is a workhorse of the north and, originally intended to be known as the King Beaver, was conceived as a larger, more capable follow on to highly successful Beaver. The Beaver was referred to by de Havilland as a “half-tonne truck;” the Otter would be the “one-tonne truck.” The Otter was used by the military forces of many countries and is also popular in with skydivers; it can be found in many drop zones throughout the world.
