Al Fateh Grand Mosque Bahrain Postcard

The Al Fateh Grand Mosque, located in Juffair, Manama, is one of the largest mosques in the world, encompassing 6,500 square metres and accommodating up to 7,000 worshippers at a time. Named after Ahmed Al Fateh, the conqueror of Bahrain, it was built by the late Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa in 1987. The mosque's design features a grand fibreglass dome, the largest in the world when it was constructed, and two imposing minarets. The mosque's interior is adorned with beautiful Italian marble flooring, Austrian crystal chandeliers, and walls inscribed with Kufic calligraphy. A unique feature is its central library, which houses a collection of thousands of books on Islamic history and culture. Al Fateh Grand Mosque is not just a place of worship but also a major centre for learning and cultural exchange, welcoming visitors to experience its peaceful ambiance and magnificent Islamic architecture.
