Abstract Mermaid Postcard

For love, she gave up her identity, sold her voice, and endured pain with every step, to offer her heart to a prince who could not understand... This piece is based on the original story of the Little Mermaid and the events and real-life people which inspired Hans Christian Andersen to write it. The red strokes indicate her wounded heart and both the tail she had as a mermaid and the pain of walking on her feet, as well as evoke the ribbons of the ballet shoes worn by the original inspiration for the character. I've put a lot of thought in this piece and I hope you see something new every time you look at it.
