Abstract Cinderella Phoenix Postcard

A slave in her own home, her hopes reduced to ashes, until one magical night her dreams are rekindled and she becomes the brightest light of the ball... This abstract painting has the flames blazing up to create her dress, and her single shoe is among shapes that might be either flagstones or the branches that feed the flames. I have been wondering why I have never heard of Cinderella described as a Phoenix story. Her identity is extinguished by her stepfamily, the person she was is dead, and then miraculously she is reborn brighter than ever. Her name even means "Ash-girl." I will be writing this one...
