Zazzle Launches Custom Fabric Plus Design Tool Improvements

Today Zazzle added a new product to its growing offerings, custom fabric. Custom fabric can be used for everything from upholstery to craft and sew projects. Zazzle is offering seven types of fabric – including combed cotton and natural linen, all of which can be purchased by the swatch, quarter, or the yard. The price per yard starts at $22.95 per yard.

In addition to the launch of fabric, Zazzle has also made several improvements to the design tool. This tool allows both designers and customers to create and sell lovely art that works well on fabric. Many customers purchase tiled designs on fabric – that is, a smaller image that forms a pattern by repeating itself throughout a larger background. As part of our design tool improvements, we've made it easier to create a tiled pattern from a single image, or even multiple images and text features. In addition, we've added a close-up tile view, as well as a ruler so that customers can see the scale and size of the designs. This tile function offers four different patterns – basic, half brick, half drop, and mirror – which makes it even easier to create a range of various tiled patterns. These new functions allow both amateurs and professional designers to create beautiful designs by tiling separately but consistently. By adding multiple images and text features, anyone can make a beautiful design whether a set of flowers or a group of personal photos.

These design tool improvements are currently only available on the fabric product but will be expanded to other products in the future, including wrapping paper. These improvements will make it even easier for both designers and customers to create designs that are unique and in line with consumer trends. Each piece of fabric is printed when ordered, and takes 3-5 days to be printed and cut before being shipped to the customer.
