A Wedge of Ibises In Flight is a congregation of ibises: iconic in Australian culture. This curved beak, iconic, infamous bird has a reputation of the worst kind and has acquired a variety of colloquial names such as tip turkey and bin chicken.
Ibises make great gardeners, fight locust plagues, are romantic and migratory. The sacred ibis was an object of religious veneration in ancient Egypt. In Greek mythology the ibis is linked to Thoth. Much more than a tip-turkey and sandwich-snatcher!
