A Sea Spell was painted by Rossetti in 1887. Dante Gabriel Rossetti was an English Pre-Raphaelite painter, designer and poet, born in 1828 and died in 1882. He lived in a curious fashion, with a menagerie of wild animals in his garden. He also had a lifelong fascination with Dante's Inferno.

I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
