A PURPLE ROSE IN PARIS POSTCARD

This postcard features an original 18"by24" oil painting by Susan Payne-Trutna. The inspiration for this painting was to recycle a long forgotten, half-painted study of lemons with a quirky antique/art shop display I recently discovered while browsing in the 7th arrondisement in Paris. An antique chair painted in tangerine and lemon arranged in front of an over scaled purple rose pretty much stopped this window shopper in her tracks! I painted much of the setting as I remembered it, but left out the faux fur covered bowl and reptile patterned floor. I think I know when to step on the brakes....I'll just let your imagination run away with that part of the scene!
