EXCEPT when Thomas somehow jumps into billy goat Jigsaw's pen in the wee hours preceding. I have to distract Jigsaw, navigate around the horses, open an immovable gate and persuade Thomas to squeeze through the tiny crack that I manage to create. Then we hurry through a second door without both of us being run over by escaping horses! Finally, we strut through the barn and into the farm yard. At night, Thomas and Henrietta are escorted to the barn where snuggly straw awaits. They know when Al picks up his "turkey crook" that it's time to say goodnight. They run ahead to the barn, happily waiting for Al to open the door. I often put them to bed when rain is coming or if Al won’t be home until dark.” Vickie lives on our 440-acre Cedar Mountain Farm in North Idaho. Surrounded by mountains and hay fields and wild flora and fauna, the forested farm offers dramatic clouds, scenic vistas, a rustic pond and rippling creek, and outdoor family adventures. Vickie is at home with rabbits, chickens, horses, sheep and goats, and loves to introduce them to guests of all ages. She always has her camera in hand.
