57 Paulownia Tile

57 Paulownia Tile

[Goshichinokiri] Kiri-mon/Kiri-mon had authority after Kiku-mon. Among Kiri-mon, Goshichi no Kiri was considered to be the crest of the Imperial family at the end of the Kamakura period. It seems that he was granted by the Imperial Family to the Ashikaga clan, and also by Nobunaga ODA and Hideyoshi HASHIBA. Later, Kiri-mon (paulownia patterns), including those who used it for a tyrannical purpose (to use it beyond one's own level), were flooded.
